That’s not a mountain behind us, that’s the top of it sticking out of Laguna Hanson. We are in a national park at high elevation. Depending on when you come here you might find water, mud, or just dry dirt.

On day one, a few hours after crossing the border at Tecate we were ready to take a break. Our plan was to take it easy and not wear ourselves out too much too quick. The next 3 hours would be spent just looking for the "road" to Laguna Hanson.
That's not a trail you're riding on. Since it's not a trail how do you know where you are going?
Truth be told, I really don't mind it when they make a mess of the bird feed. It's actually quite amazing watching them dig and sort for the nuts and seeds that interest them. After they are done it only takes me a couple minutes to sweep up the mess and put it back in a bag.
